About Us

Welcome! My name is Denise Shaw and I am the owner and maker at Sunnyside Drive Studio.

I’ve always had a passion for expressing my creativity through painting, sewing, interior decorating, furniture upcycling, and the handcrafting of beautiful things. I’ve found that nothing satisfies my heart like crafting with my hands.

After the birth of my adorable granddaughter, Ruby, I was inspired to begin creating beautiful, sparkly headbands and hair bows. Eventually, I expanded my repertoire to include unique gifts and accessories, including genuine leather earrings and bracelets.

For years, I received joy from gifting my crafts to family, friends and coworkers, who often encouraged me to open my own shop. After retiring, I favorably tested the "craft show waters” and decided to follow the advice, opening Sunnyside Drive Studio.

I hope you enjoy my beautiful and whimsical handcrafted items as much as I enjoy making them. There is nothing more satisfying than watching a precious face light up after receiving a Sunnyside Drive Studio creation.

Under the watchful supervision of my three feline companions, Abby, Pete and Remy, all items are lovingly handcrafted and packaged locally in southern Maryland.
